Registration info is now saved to a respiratory common to all users on the same computer. There is no more a need to reenter registration info for each user.
PPP - added an option for auto hiding of floating window when not connected. Thus, the floating window can serve as an indicator for connection status.
Software Update - Addressed an issue where regular update was presented as a beta update.

New automatic check for updates (enabled by default), including automatic download in background (disabled by default). The auto update settings are available from a new preference pane, including a manual check.
Stopwatch window position is now saved between runs.
Selecting the Stopwatch from the menu while visible will center it's position.

Registred programs will no longer make periodical contacts to .mac (the purpose of this "feature" was to fetch a list of pirated serials, the list had never been populated.).

Traffic Log tool - Added persistency. Logs are saved between runs.

Added server menu to regular window (the window will auto expend to include the menu if remote client is turned on).
Improved remote monitoring client connection - the program will no longer stall while trying to connect to a new server after trying to connect to a server at a non existing ip/port.

3.8.0 - 27th March 2005

New stopwatch tool which measures average, peak and total traffic for local and remote computers. The stopwatch is available from the Tools menus. The stopwatch is useful for measuring dsl/cable performance.

Addressed compatibility issues with recent builds of macOS 10.4 (currently menubar view positioning is disabled on 10.4).
Minor rearrangement of regular window text display.

Notice to users of remote monitoring
Due to a change in the program timing mechanisim, version 3.8.0 should not be used in conjenction with older versions (as a server or a client). All copies of the program should be upgraded.

Net Monitor cumulative counters, which relies on the systems counters, will no longer rollover to zero at 4GB (i.e. cumulative counters size had been increased from 32 bit to 64 bit), provided the program is running while the rollover occurs.

Remote monitoring - add ability to monitor remote zones, thus enabling remote monitoring across intranet/internet, provided there is a reliable connection (currently latency < 1 second). Selecting a remote server is done via the server menu command "Other servers ...".

Web - Removed link to german localization.

Menu Bar - Moved PPP submenu to main menu. PPP menu items are auto inserted into the menu when monitoring a ppp connection.

Menu Bar - Addressed an issue where drawing in the menu bar was done with drop shadow (especially visible with transparent background).

2.9b2 - 27th September 2002

Enhanced network selection algorithm
Net Monitor will no longer quit when there are no network interfaces available for monitoring, instead it will wait for the first available network.
Net Monitor will remember the monitored interface for each location, and will auto switch to that interface when location changes.
When switching to a location for which the saved interface is unavailable or on the first time a location is being monitored, Net Monitor will search for a network interface with the same name as the previous interface monitored.
When switching to/from BSD input mode, Net Monitor will look for the first interface with the same device type as the previously monitored interface.

General - Addressed a situation where some network menu items where disabled.
Dock - Addressed a situation where an open dock menu caused a crash (when network/ppp configuration changed).
Color Preferences - Fixed wrong labeling of color labels (again).

Menubar Display - Added an option to override the default positioning (i.e. right of menu extras).

Jagaur - Implemented a bypass to overcome a bug in macOS 10.2 statistics reporting for PPP interfaces (as described in version 2.5b1 notes).
Jaguar - Fixed a crasher on 10.2 due to text string formatting bug when Zero Padding option wasn't selected.
Scaling - New option added for rounding up scaling in an arithmetic or geometric series, available under the Input Tab of the Preferences Panel (thanks to Joe Walters).

Window View - Added an option to ignore hide command.

Text Information Revisions
Data Displayed - Selectable between Throughput, Interval Data Through & Cumulative Data Through.
Data Average - Data can be averaged up to last 99 samples.
Data Unit - Selectable between Bytes & Bits.
Data Unit Scaling - Selectable between Binary (2^10=1,024) and Decimal (10^3=1,000).
Zero-Padding - Formatted data can be padded with zeros to the selected precision.
Configuration of the above is done via new Info preference tab.
PPP Revision
Added connect/disconnect button to floating window - Button is enabled via the PPP preferences View tab.

2.5b1 - 17th June 2002

Removed macOS 10.2 (Jaguar) disabling - Net Monitor is compatible with 10.2. Currently there is a bug in Apple's PPP daemon implementation, causing Net Monitor not to report incoming data. You can verify this by running the command line tool "netstat -I ppp0 -w 1".
Revised PPP menu - Add status reporting, merged connect/disconnect items to one item.
Added PPP time connected to menu bar display - Activated from the preferences (PPP view tab).
Added PPP menu bar tool tip status reporting - Updates dynamically (while being displayed), when connected reports IP addresses.
Fixed menu bar menu validation - it is not possible anymore to change properties which are not relevant to the current display mode.
Fixed crash which can occur on some machines after long time of usage.

Added PPP controlling by incorporating most of PPP Monitor functionality (except window view mode connect/disconnect button & time connected output in sliding info window).
PPP controlling is off by default. It is activated via the PPP tab in the preference panel.

1.8b1 - 4th February 2002

Added Stick to Primary Interface option (off by default - activated via Input preference tab). When the program monitors a primary interface, and the primary interface changes, the program will switch automatically to the new primary interface. Useful for users who move between networks (for example AirPort & Ethernet). Thanks to Thomas Weyer for the idea.
Added Grid view mode to Menubar views (selection from the Menubar view menu).
Added scale selection to the Menubar view menu (same as in the preferences).
Home Page - Added an explanation about not saving preferences when the program is run as a background application (i.e. with no Dock icon).
Recovered form hard disk head crash (lost few bucks to the recovery service).
